UPDATE 09/12/25 – RECRUITMENT CLOSED
Should The Rum Story become an accredited museum rather than a visitor attraction? This is something we’ve been asking people through consultation and engagement this year. We’re now looking to recruit a freelance consultant to help us decide if this is something we should work towards.
Their role will be to produce a report:
- Analysing the pros and cons of both options (becoming an museum v remaining a visitor attraction)
- Setting out what we would need to do to achieve accredited museum status
- Recommending which option they think is best and why
We expect the report to be informed by conversations with the Rum Story Re-Imagined Project Manager and team, project consultation/engagement findings, their own experience and desk research. The work will need to be undertaken by 31 Jan ’26 and we are anticipating contracting someone for up to 13 days.
