Entrance Courtyard & Kinetic Clock Jefferson Office

Image of the Courtyard with Café tables We begin our tour by entering The Rum Story from Lowther Street, a road containing many of Whitehaven's finest Georgian buildings.

Emerging from a short, covered walkway we find ourselves in the Courtyard where Café tables are available under a glass roof. Balcony tables also offer a wonderful opportunity for people-watching or for keeping an eye on the famous Rum Story Kinetic Clock.

Image of the Rum Story Kinetic Clock which mechanically shows the story of rum Directly ahead is the main ticket office and entrance to the Rum Story. Beside this, our Gift Shop offers a wonderful selection of unusual gifts and the full range of our world famous Jefferson's Rum.

To our right the Kinetic Clock ticks away mechanically representing the story of rum from sugar cane to bottle. Also to our right is a doorway leading to our next stop, the Jefferson Clerks' Office.
